Review: Sqweel

Tuesday, October 5th, 2010

The Sqweel by Love Honey is a unique sex toy that is intended to simulate oral sex.  It has a wheel of ten tongues that “lap” your clitoris, or whatever body part you choose to use it on.  The Sqweel is not a vibrator, but it is one pleasure giving motorized sex toy.

Sqweel Oral Sex Simulator

Things you need to know:

Material: The tongues are made from super soft soft silicone.  The casing is made from ABS plastic.

Batteries: Requires 3 AAA batteries, not included.

Multispeed: 3 levels that give you just the right variation.

Noise level: A little on the high side.  Although not enough to stop me from using it, this is my least favorite aspect of the Sqweel.  Loud toys piss me off.  Not that anyone likes them, but I have been known to turn my back on a toy after 5 seconds of super loud buzzing.  Not the case here, but know this is not a discrete toy.

Clean up: Easy.  It can be taken apart so that you can clean the wheel separately.

Storage: It is self contained in that a cap covers the tongues so you can just toss it in a drawer.  It does come in a larger tin container that can be used as well.

The Sqweel’s wheel-o-tongues doesn’t necessarily give you the exact feeling of someone going down on you, but it does deliver a pleasure filled non-vibratory sensation.   It isn’t a toy for a quick O, but it is perfect for when you want to spend some quality time with yourself or your partner.  Applying too much pressure stops the wheel from turning, so it forces you to take your time and not get carried away too quickly.  Sustained is the word that comes to mind.  It is a bit like being in the area that is just before the crest of a wave.

It’s fun to experiment with different angles and stimulation points when playing with the Sqweel.  My favorite was the downward stroke, while I found the upward to be downright irritating.  Not painful, but it is sort of like when someone puts too much sugar in my coffee.  Too much of a good thing.  It’s all about personal preference, but that’s life.

I definitely recommend using plenty of lube with this one so that the flaps glide along your skin rather than slap it.  Enough said.

I had a hard time using a dildo at the same time as the Sqweel.  It was cumbersome and awkward.  I have read other reviews, some stating they had the same issue while other didn’t.  I will have to give this another whirl because I think the Sqweel paired with penetration would be a force to be reckoned with.  Orgasm?  Didn’t happen with this toy, but  I’m not sad about it.

I definitely recommend this toy.  It isn’t just another vibrator and I like that.

Classic Vibrators

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

The sex toy industry is blooming with fancy new vibrators and gadgets of all makes and models.  If you can stimulate it, there is some sort of buzzing contraption that will buzz it.  Some are works of art, some look like spaceships and some still look like a good old fashioned cock.

This is a good thing.  I embrace vibrator technology and all of the care that goes into material safety these days.   I love love love my whimsical FunFactory vibes and hold a special place for my subtly powered Mia. With all of this being said, there are still some classics that have been, and always will be, giving women top notch earth shattering orgasms.

To name a few…

Hitachi massagerThe Head Mistress of all vibrators is the Hitachi Magic Wand.  First created as a massager for your everyday aches and pains, it was made popular in the early 1970′s by sexologist and orgasm expert, Betty Dodson.  She first mentioned the Hitachi in her book Sex For One: The Joy Of Self Loving.

You can purchase and read more about this high powered electric wonder by clicking on the link above.Pocket Rocket

Another tried and true vibe is the famous Pocket Rocket.  With all of that power it packs, it really couldn’t be called anything other than a rocket.  While some find it overwhelming, many women can’t get off with any other toy.  Hard plastic and ready handle your clitoris, the Pocket Rocket is here to stay.

Last, but not least is the Silver Bullet.  It’s cheap, it’s simple, it comes in a bag.  It’s as basic as they cum come, folks.  Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had an orgasm or two from your everyday bullet vibe.  It’s perfect for beginners and a nonthreatening staple in your toy collection.  Oh yea, it’s cheap.  Here it is, in all of it’s glory:

Whether you are a vibrator purist or you just need something simple, you can count on these classic vibrators to get you off every time!

Vibrator Review: Mia

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

Wherever I go, Mia will go.

Discreet Vibrator

The Lelo Mia is a great little vibrator.  It can totally pass as a tube of lipstick just sitting in your purse, make up case or anywhere, making it perfect for travel.

Here are the specs and technical details:

Size: About 4 1/2 inches long and a little less than 1 inch wide.

Materials: Silicone and ABS plastic

Power: Rechargeable using your computer’s USB port.  Remove the cap of the vibe to reveal a USB extension and plug in directly, or use the provided USB extension cord.  As to not turn Mia on accidentally, she can be locked by pressing her power buttons simultaneously until the light fades completely.

Charge Time: It takes about 1 1/2 hours to charge her for the first time.  A full charge lasts 1 1/2 hours.  A steady LED light indicates she is charged up and ready for use.

Modes: Lelo states that Mia has 4 modes of vibration, but each mode has multiple levels.  There are plenty of intensity levels to choose from.

Sotrage: As with all Lelo products, this vibrator comes with a storage box and a satin pouch.  I like how I can store the extension cord in the bottom of the box.

Discreet vibe by LeloMia is the ultimate in travel vibrators.  She is super discreet and her vibrations are oh so quiet.  On the highest setting you can hear but a dull roar.  Mia is made from phthalates free body friendly materials making her easy to clean and making my naughty bits happy.  Being that she is rechargeable, she is eco-friendly and hassle free (no need for pesky batteries).

Adding a touch of lube to this vibrator’s glossy finish makes her feel just divine everywhere you want her to.  Mia had enough buzz to satisfy my taste, but those who need intensity from the likes of the pocket rocket would probably be left unsatisfied.  That isn’t to say this little vibrator is weak, it just isn’t packing jet engines.

What I didn’t love about the Mia was that depending on how I held her the cap would become loose or come off.  I got off (pun intended) without pinching my pink parts, but I could see how it could occur.  If the cap snapped on, this wouldn’t be an issue.

I am a fan of the Mia.  She won’t be my number 1 go to vibe at home, but she is definitely my pick for on-the-go-O’s.  I recommend her to anyone who likes discreet toys with mid to nearly-high vibration intensities.
