THE Pleasure Organ: The Clitoris
The Experts at the Sextoys . com blog have given a lot of attention to the g-spot. It was well deserved and my g-spot and I have a great relationship. However, I thought it might be nice to chat a little about the always reliable clitoris.
Freud stated that the clitoral orgasm was something that women grew out of once they hit a certain time in their life, and would move on to internal orgasms only. Wrong. Women of all ages are still having them whether it is during solo or mutual masturbation, oral stimulation, intercourse or any other means of satisfaction.
What is the clitoris and where can I find it?
In short, the clitoris is essentially an organ that contains a bundle of nerve endings and is made up of erectile tissue. When stimulated properly, it can provide a woman with tremendous amounts of pleasure. The part that most people are familiar with is the little “button” called the clitoral head or glans clitoris. It is located where the labia minora, or inner lips, meet and is generally hidden to some extent by the clitoral hood. Following it further into the body you will find the shaft, which can grow from an unexcited 1 inch to 2 inches when the party gets started.
All women and their genitalia are special and unique snowflakes. The little man in the boat may be slightly exposed before arousal or you may barely ever see it at all. The average size, the part you see anyway, is smaller than your pinky nail, but again, size varies and that is perfectly okay! When aroused, the tissue fills with blood, the goods are engorged and the little pea becomes even more hidden by the hood. Why is this? Because direct clitoral stimulation can be painful or annoying. Indirect stimulation is usually the way to go. Remember this! The body knows what it is doing. Some women do enjoy targeted diddling, so pay attention to her body language communicate!
The clitoris doesn’t stop there. The network of nerves may extend 4 inches into the body, depending on who you ask. Branching from the shaft are two legs that lie on either side of the vagina. They too swell when excited. One could travel much further into the land of exploring all of the aspects and scientific names of the parts of the clitoris. For now, I think you have a good basic understanding. The understanding that the clit isn’t just some little pebble in the northern region of the vulva. Also, the clitoris may or may not be responsible for that thing we all love or hope to love one day, the g-spot orgasm.
Some say that the clitoris is the female equivalent of the penis. I say the penis is the male equivalent of the clitoris. Both have an abundance of nerve endings, both become erect when excited and the foreskin is linked to the clitoral hood. What makes the clitoris unique? It is the only known organ whose sole purpose is pleasure! That’s right; it is simply there to make you feel good. So ladies, if you have yet to experience an orgasm, or pleasure for that matter, explore your clitoris! It is ready and waiting for you.
Soon enough we shall revisit the clitoris and all the joy that it has to offer. For now, visit our vibrator section that contains many products that could make your clit very happy.
